Musician Grenade Official has spoken out to clarify his political stance, stating that he is not affiliated with the ruling National Resistance Movement (NRM) or any other political party. His focus, he emphasized, remains solely on supporting initiatives that benefit musicians and the broader creative industry.
Grenade Official made these remarks during the launch of President Yoweri Museveni’s music album, held yesterday at Speke Resort Munyonyo.
The album, compiled by creatives under the Uganda National Musicians Federation (UNMF), was a celebration of the growing collaboration between artists and the state.
The former Team No Sleep (TNS) artist explained that his attendance at the event was not political but rather a show of support for the progress being made in the music industry.
He applauded the Federation’s ability to showcase their achievements to the President, calling it a significant milestone.
“Just because I attended doesn’t mean I support NRM or any political party.I’m not a politician. I do good music, and I’ll always support what’s good for my industry.”,he said.
Grenade also dismissed the idea that UNMF is politically driven, instead framing it as a platform for unity and growth among artists.
“This is not about politics,” he added. “It’s about artists coming together to build something stronger for our future.”,he concluded.
