Kampala Metropolitan Police Spokesperson, Patrick Onyango has confirmed the arrest of singer Shafiq Dangote popularly known as Fik Gaza, in connection with robbery cases.
His arrest followed a police operation targeting his residence.
The operation was conducted in response to a rise in robbery incidents in and around Katwe Division.
Alongside Fik Gaza, three other suspects were apprehended: Magoola Najibu, Mutuba David (alias Mavin Gaza), and Zziwa Charles (alias Mzungu).
Authorities recovered several exhibits from the scene, including pangas (machetes), military attire, and suspected narcotics. These items have been secured in the police exhibit chambers.
Investigations further revealed that Fik Gaza’s residence was harboring some of the city’s most wanted criminals. Notably, one of the suspects, Zziwa Charles, had previously escaped from custody while facing murder charges.
Police have completed sanctioning case files against all those arrested, and legal proceedings are expected to follow.
