Troy Wamala, the man convicted in connection with the death of singer Mowzey Radio, has appealed his 13-year prison sentence.
Tory was convicted to 13 years in prison by the High court in Entebbe in 2019 after being found guilty of manslaughter .
According to Meddie Sembajja, a member of Mowzey Radio’s family, Tory applied for the appeal and itv was heard in court this week.
However, the court found Wamala’s arguments to be baseless and dismissed them as null and void.
Despite this ruling, the court stated that a final judgment on Wamala’s appeal would be delivered at a later date.
Radio’s family, however remains unsatisfied with the initial 13-year sentence, arguing that it does not reflect the gravity of the loss.

“Radio was the breadwinner and caretaker for our mother, had a family and children, and many responsibilities. We felt the sentence was too lenient, especially since the time he spent on remand was deducted from it. But we had no choice.”,Radio’s family stated.
Mowzey Radio, born Moses Sekibogo, died on February 1, 2018, at Case Hospital in Kampala.

His death followed nearly two weeks in the Intensive Care Unit after suffering severe head injuries during a bar altercation in Entebbe Town.
