Pastor Martin Ssempa of Makerere Community Church has voiced strong criticism against entertainers who engage in cross-dressing, labeling it unacceptable and harmful to societal morals.
Pastor Martin Ssempa expressed concern over male performers dressing in women’s clothing and adopting feminine behavior, as well as female entertainers displaying masculine traits. He believes this trend is damaging to moral values.
In a recent interview, the pastor singled out comedian Amooti Omubalanguzi for his cross-dressing during performances. He specifically referenced Amooti’s latest show, where he reportedly brought men dressed as women on stage, condemning it as inappropriate.
Ssempa also criticized comedian Senga Sebanga for appearing in public dressed as a woman, stating that he could not tolerate seeing a man in women’s clothing on television.
The pastor pledged to address his concerns with Nyombi Tembo, the Executive Director of the Uganda Communications Commission, to combat what he views as the gradual erosion of moral standards in the entertainment industry.
Pastor Martin Ssempa further took issue with singer Azawi’s ‘masculine’ demeanor and questioned the fashion choices of Elijah Kitaka, who was seen wearing short shorts, which the pastor deemed unsuitable for men.
Media personality Kasuku also found himself in the spotlight, with Sempa accusing him of adopting similar short-short trends.

The pastor ended his remarks by urging these entertainers to reconsider their fashion choices, embrace more positive behavior, and become better role models for society.
