Masaka based businessman Lwasa Acram (formerly Emmanuel Lwasa) has come out swinging after being dragged to court over claims that he failed to pay a UGX 21 million debt allegedly borrowed from a pork dealer.
Speaking to the media shortly after securing bail, He dismissed the accusations as “false, malicious and nonsensical.”
According to the complainant, Lwasa borrowed the money and refused to pay back but the controversial tycoon says that story doesn’t add up.
“I never borrowed any money from a pork seller. Who sells pork and has 21 million lying around to lend? Even the judge saw the charges were nonsense,”
Lwasa defended himself outside court.
He added that he had to call his wife from Masaka to come and stand surety before he was released on bail.
Despite the public drama and online talk that he is drowning in debt, he insists he is financially stable and nowhere near broke.
“I’m not broke. I have enough to eat for four months non stop”,he bragged.
The case was pushed to January next year, and Lwasa says he is more than ready to return to court and prove his innocence.
