A vigil for the late Rajiv Ruparelia is currently being held at the Ruparelia family residence in Kololo, Kampala, where mourners continue to gather to pay their final respects.
However, controversy arose on Saturday night when Kampala based -Masaka businessman Emmanuel Lwasa was allegedly turned away from the event.

According to reports, Lwasa was denied access to the condolence book reserved for Kampala’s elite tycoons and close associates of the Ruparelia family.
Sources claim that Lwasa was instead directed to the general condolence book for the public, which he reportedly found disrespectful. Frustrated and feeling slighted, he is said to have left the vigil abruptly.

It is also rumored that Lwasa had hoped to use the vigil as an opportunity to network with prominent businessmen such as Hamis Kiggundu (Ham), in an effort to seek financial assistance or potential business deals.
Rajiv Ruparelia tragically lost his life in the early hours of Saturday morning following a fatal accident at the Busabala flyover. His cremation is scheduled for today, May 6, 2025, at the Hindu Crematorium in Lugogo.
