Renowned Kampala land broker Hajji Muhammad Kamoga has been given a final one-week ultimatum by the High Court to produce over 40 land titles or face imprisonment in a long-standing land fraud case.
Kamoga, who owns Kamoga Property Consultants Ltd, was arrested by court bailiffs over yesterday and presented before High Court Registrar Karen Christine Namutebi after failing to comply with a 2019 consent judgment.
The agreement required him to return 45 land titles related to property in Garuga–Bugabo, Wakiso District.
He was on the verge of being committed to Luzira Civil Prison when his lawyer, Moses Karungi, pleaded for more time, claiming efforts were ongoing to retrieve the titles. The registrar granted a final extension of one week.
The case was brought by Andrew Nganda Bugingo, who accuses Kamoga of fraudulently transferring most of the titles into his own name, leaving Bugingo and several other rightful owners stranded, particularly on Block 432, Plots 111 and 131 in Bugabo.

According to court documents, he had originally been appointed to oversee subdivision of the land and distribute titles, but allegedly failed to do so, prompting legal action.
The court has now ordered him to surrender the titles by May 12, 2025, warning that failure to comply will result in immediate incarceration.
