Veteran Ugandan journalist Isaac Katende, better known as Kasuku, has reflected on a controversial 2014 encounter with singer Eddy Kenzo, calling it a pivotal moment in his career.
In a recent interview, Kasuku described the physical altercation as a blessing in disguise
“Eddy Kenzo beating me up was a blessing in disguise. Since then, I have not been the same. I have earned a lot from it.”, Kasuku explained.
The incident occurred during a press event at Centenary Park, where tensions escalated after Kasuku accused Kenzo of allegedly paying media outlets to block airplay for other artists.
The accusations sparked a heated exchange that reportedly turned physical, with Kenzo attacking the journalist.

While the altercation stirred public backlash at the time, Kasuku now says it helped him gain widespread attention, ultimately opening doors and boosting his presence in the media industry.

He credits the incident with helping him grow his brand, adding momentum to a career that has since seen him become one of Uganda’s most outspoken and influential media figures.
