Zuena Kirema, wife of Ugandan musician Bebe Cool, has shared the emotional journey her family has experienced, particularly regarding their son, Alpha Ssali Thierry.
Alpha, a professional footballer for NEC FC, has been battling Esotropia, a condition that causes the misalignment of his eyes, commonly known as strabismus.
Zuena revealed that the condition was a result of an accident, which has deeply affected her son both physically and emotionally.
In an interview, Zuena explained that Alpha has undergone four eye surgeries due to the accident. She described the process as a tough and challenging experience for the whole family, with Alpha enduring significant physical and emotional pain throughout.
Zuena also expressed her frustration with the hurtful online comments directed at Alpha, particularly those mocking his condition.
Despite the negativity, she emphasized her resolve to leave judgment in God’s hands.
“Seeing these comments hurts him, but there’s nothing we can do about it,.Sometimes, when I read some of the things people write, I wonder if they understand what I went through to get my son to where he is today. I doubt many of them would endure the same suffering.”Zuena Said.
Through all the struggles, Zuena credited the family’s strength to their unwavering faith, continuous prayers, and support.
“It took a lot of encouragement for him. The surgeries were extremely stressful, and we all worried so much. We prayed a lot, and we have come a long way. We are grateful for where we are now, and we thank God for it,” she shared.
Through her faith and gratitude, she highlighted how vital these values have been in keeping the family strong in the face of adversity.
