The Uganda U17 Men’s National Football Team (Cubs) will have one final chance to secure a spot at the 2025 FIFA U17 World Cup, as they face The Gambia in a crucial match.
The fixture was confirmed on Monday following the conclusion of the final group matches at the ongoing U17 Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco.
The Gambia suffered a 2-1 defeat to Tunisia in their last group match, which saw them finish third in Group C. Tunisia and Senegal advanced to the quarterfinals.

Similarly, Uganda Cubs also finished third in their group after losing to Morocco and Zambia, but securing a victory over Tanzania.
Africa has ten World Cup slots this year, and the quarterfinalists of the current AFCON tournament have automatically qualified. Additionally, two more spots are up for grabs, with third-placed teams from each group set to compete for the remaining berths.
Uganda Cubs will face The Gambia on Saturday, April 12th, while Egypt will play Angola in the other match.
