Presidential candidate Kyagulanyi Ssentamu Robert alias Bobi Wine has confirmed that his producer and aide Oyerwot Brenny Daniel a.k.a Sir Dan Magic was hit in the face by security enforcers and a group of streets gangs armed with stick and other crude weapons while on his campaign trail in Gulu city.
According to NUP presidential candidate, tensions had already been rising after their Gulu office was allegedly vandalised earlier in the week. Matters escalated this morning when unidentified groups reportedly attacked NUP supporters, beating them and scattering their activities.

In the afternoon, their campaign venue was allegedly raided by security personnel who assaulted supporters, vandalised the sound system, and disappeared with several items. One NUP driver was reportedly beaten into unconsciousness and remains in critical condition.
As the NUP convoy entered Gulu City, Bobi Wine claims individuals dressed in police and military uniforms ambushed his team, pelting them with sticks and stones.
“One of them hit me in the face; Dan Magic was hit on the head,” he said, confirming that several team members are now hospitalised.

The disturbing scenes have sparked widespread public outrage, with many questioning the conduct of Uganda’s security forces. Social media has since erupted with messages of prayer and solidarity for Dan Magic and all victims of the Gulu violence.
Despite the chaos, Bobi Wine vowed that their push for political change will not be derailed.
