Media personality Sheilah Gashumba recently took to X (formerly Twitter) to shed light on how society particularly some men treats accomplished women.
In her candid post, Sheilah Gashumba addressed the harsh reality many ambitious women face: being unfairly labeled and shamed for their success.
“Dear bold and ambitious young ladies, I’m writing this to prepare you, once you achieve success, you’ll be called all sorts of names especially ‘a prostitute.’”, Sheilah Gashumba wrote.

She didn’t mince words, calling out how some individuals attempt to discredit women’s achievements by questioning their integrity, especially in professional environments.
“Even when a woman holds a high-ranking corporate role, insecure men will say, ‘she slept her way up,’” she continued.
Gashumba emphasized that such comments are often rooted in personal insecurities, failures, and a lack of ambition.
“Most men don’t like the idea of a successful woman it bruises their ego,” she noted.
She added that a truly confident and accomplished man would never resort to name-calling or baseless accusations, particularly toward a woman he has no personal ties to.
Despite the criticism, Gashumba offered words of encouragement to young women pursuing their goals.

“Hold your head high. Stay focused, chase your dreams, and don’t let anyone’s words slow you down. Eyes on the prize,” she concluded.
