Kampala Central Member of Parliament and lawyer Shamim Malende’s estranged husband, Ssebunya Andrew popularly known as Palace King has finally spoken out for the first time following their public breakup.
His response comes after Shamim Malende’s recent press conference, during which she accused him of seizing some of her belongings, including two cars and control of her social media accounts.
In his statement, Ssebunya denied the accusations, asserting that he has not taken anything that doesn’t belong to him.
“Everything in my possession is rightfully mine. I have all the receipts to prove it,” he said.
The couple had been together for over five years, though it’s unclear whether they share any children. Initially, many believed Ssebunya was just a bodyguard, but it was later confirmed that the two were in a committed relationship and legally married.

Now that the relationship has ended and a public dispute over property has erupted, drawing widespread attention and reactions from Ugandans many of whom are amused and puzzled by the drama.
“Shamim Malende is lying to everyone, claiming I have her property. Everything you see me with belongs to me. She’s just trying to gain attention ahead of the upcoming elections,” Ssebunya added.
