Ugandan singer Alien Skin has broken his silence following the just-concluded general elections, calling on musicians to return to the studio and refocus on music after their disappointing performance in politics.
Uganda headed to the polls on January 15, 2026, to elect the President and Members of Parliament. President Yoweri Museveni emerged victorious once again, while parliamentary results delivered a harsh reality for artists who had tried their luck in active politics  not a single musician secured a seat in the next Parliament.

Reacting to the outcome, Alien Skin said the campaign season is now behind the country and artists must accept the moment and rebuild their careers where they belong in music.
He noted that the long break before the next election cycle presents a fresh opportunity for musicians to reconnect with fans, release new projects, and reclaim their relevance in the entertainment industry.
“Now that elections and rallies are over, Ugandan musicians, it’s time to face reality,” Alien Skin said.

“While some of you were chasing politics and sympathy, it’s now time for music to speak. There are no excuses anymore. If you choose politics, that’s your path — but for now, let the music talk.”
His statement has already sparked conversations online, with fans debating whether musicians should stay in entertainment or continue pursuing political ambitions.
With the dust from the elections settling, Alien Skin’s message is clear: the mic is calling  not the ballot.
