“I want to make it clear to all my supporters and the public that I am not on X. I only use Facebook, TikTok, and WhatsApp to engage with my people,” he stated.

Mathias Walukaga expressed concern that the fake account has been sharing political statements and personal opinions as though they were his, calling the act a deliberate attempt to mislead the public and tarnish his reputation.

“Whoever is behind that account is trying to create confusion and spread falsehoods in my name. I have already instructed my team to handle the matter with the relevant authorities,” he said.

He further urged supporters to verify official pages before sharing or believing any information online.

According to NUP officials, the party has also been notified about the impersonation, and members have called for increased vigilance among supporters, citing a growing trend of online identity theft targeting public figures in Uganda.

Walukagga reaffirmed his dedication to service, unity, and development, saying his priority remains the upliftment of the people of Busiro East.
