Renowned Ugandan singer and former media personality, Tendo Sserunjoji popularly known as Lady Titie Tabel has revealed how she unknowingly became part of a massive scam during her time on radio.

Titie, once a member of the Kaads Band, rose to fame in the 2000s through her emotional and widely followed Kalasamayanzi program on CBS FM. One of the show’s most gripping features was a segment where she read letters from listeners recounting personal struggles ranging from family problems to domestic abuse, illness, and witchcraft.

In a recent confession, Titie now a born-again Christian explained how the segment was eventually hijacked by individuals posing as traditional healers.

These fake witch doctors began submitting fabricated letters and paid her substantial amounts to air them on the show.

“At first, the letters were genuine, but over time, these witch doctors saw an opportunity. They started writing fake stories and paid me well to read them about Shs 1 million per letter, up to Shs 5 million a week. I ended up sidelining real letters and kept this from my managers.”she admitted.

Her turning point came when tragedy struck her own life. Her six-month-old baby was diagnosed with an imperforate hymen, a rare condition where the vaginal opening is completely blocked. In desperation, she sought help from the same witch doctors she had been promoting but found no relief.

Eventually, a colleague introduced her to a church in Mutundwe. After prayers, her child was miraculously healed.

Lady Titie Tabel says this experience deeply transformed her, prompting her to give her life to Christ in 2008.
