In 2008, Cindy Sanyu was unexpectedly removed from Blu3, the popular girl group that had become a powerhouse in East African entertainment.
Many thought this would mark the end of her career ,however, it turned out to be the beginning of a new chapter that earned her the title “King Herself.”
During a Tusker Malt Conversessions episode featuring Blu3, Cindy was asked if she regretted leaving the group. Her response was profound: “Everything that’s happened has brought us to where we are today, and in some way, it’s all been worthwhile.
She further stressed that If I had not left Blu3, this version of her would never have emerged.
“Blu3 had its own style, and I had to discover my own. Without that journey, I wouldn’t have been able to grow into the person I am now or develop my craft.” she explained .
