After several years away from the spotlight, Ugandan music star Grace Nakimera is preparing to stage a major comeback.

Speaking at a press conference yesterday, Nakimera revealed she was deeply moved by fellow musician Mesach Ssemakula’s recent remarks urging her return to the industry.

Ssemakula, during a TikTok livestream, praised Nakimera’s distinctive sound and said the industry still “thirsts” for her presence.

“I was touched hearing from our legend, Mesach Ssemakula, saying that the industry misses me. I went home, got emotional, and prayed about it,” Nakimera shared.

While she didn’t give an exact timeline, Nakimera hinted that new music could be on the horizon. “Hopefully, soon enough, you will be hearing news from me,” she said, adding that she plans to announce her next steps when the time feels right.

Ssemakula also encouraged her comeback by offering any song from his catalogue for her to remake as part of her return.

Nakimera rose to fame in the late 2000s and early 2010s with chart-topping hits like Kiva Kuki, Kawonawo, Nkwagala Kufa, and Onyambanga Mukama. However, she stepped away from music due to personal challenges, including what she described as spiritual attacks linked to suspected witchcraft.

Since then, Grace Nakimera has dedicated herself to church ministry and charitable work through her nonprofit, the Feed The Streets Foundation.

Her possible return is already stirring excitement among fans and fellow artists alike.
