Hon. Phiona Nyamutoro, Uganda’s Minister of State for Energy and Mineral Development (Minerals), recently shared her personal journey with renowned musician Eddy Kenzo.
Speaking candidly about their relationship on TV interview, she described their union as a merger of two vastly different worlds.
“It’s not typical for someone in my profession to end up with someone in his field,” she remarked.
Nyamutoro revealed that Kenzo had prayed to God for a woman just like her, describing their bond as a result of divine intervention. “There’s no way this could happen without God. He has a reason for bringing us together,” she explained.
She also shed light on a more spiritual side of Kenzo, saying, “If you sat down with Kenzo and he spoke about God, you would be amazed. You wouldn’t recognize him as the same person.”
Nyamutoro praised Kenzo’s dedication to empowering young people, saying, “I believe it would be valuable for young people to hear from him, especially in times of unrest.”
Reflecting on their first meeting, Nyamutoro shared a surprising moment when Kenzo boldly declared that he wanted to marry her. She admitted, “I’m not sure if he was always this daring, telling someone he barely knew that he wanted to marry them.”
Kenzo told her confidently, “I have never asked any woman to marry me before.”
Concluding her story, Nyamutoro expressed her belief that their relationship is guided by a higher power, stating, “The same God who brought us together will see us through, all for His glory.”
In June, Phiona Nyamutoro and Eddy Kenzo made their relationship official with a traditional introduction ceremony, marking a significant milestone. Despite their differing backgrounds, the couple continues to inspire others with their story of faith and love.
