Brigadier-General Felix Kulayigye Elevated to Acting Major-General Rank

Brigadier-General Felix Kulayigye, the Director of Defence Public Information, has been promoted to the rank of Acting Major-General by the Chief of Defence Forces, General Muhoozi Kainerugaba.

Col Deo Akiiki, the Deputy Defence Spokesperson, confirmed the promotion, attributing it to Brig Gen Kulayigye’s exceptional service and significant contribution to representing the Uganda People’s Defence Forces (UPDF) in the public domain.

General Muhoozi commended Brig Gen Kulayigye’s dedication, noting, “His unwavering commitment to excellence in public communication has played a key role in enhancing the visibility and global reputation of the UPDF.”

Both the Ministry of Defence and Veteran Affairs and the UPDF have congratulated Brig Gen Kulayigye on his well-earned promotion.

Col Akiiki expressed pride in the achievement, emphasizing, “This promotion is a testament to his tireless efforts in shaping the public image of our armed forces.”

This promotion marks a major milestone in Brig Gen Kulayigye’s career, particularly in his influential role in shaping UPDF’s public relations strategy.

His work has been crucial in managing the UPDF’s image, especially in foreign missions such as peacekeeping in Somalia and the ongoing Operation Shujaa in the Democratic Republic of Congo against the Allied Democratic Forces.
