Renowned Ugandan musician Joseph Mayanja, popularly known as Jose Chameleone, has issued a stern warning to events promoter Nobat Events, real name Norbert Twizire, urging him to stop slandering him on social media.
In an audio message circulating online, Chameleone accused Nobat of repeatedly spreading false information and launching unwarranted personal attacks, despite never having worked together.
“Nobat, I don’t understand why you have a problem with me. We’ve never worked together. I’ve worked with promoters like Balaam, KT, and Abitex, but never with you,Yet you always seem to have something negative to say about me. I constantly see you on social media, speaking with hatred. Your words are not based on facts they’re just meant to tarnish my name. I want you to be mindful of what you say about me.”,Chameleone said.
Nobat previously worked with Chameleone’s brothers, Weasel and Pallaso, but their professional relationships ended contentiously. During Weasel’s “Memories Of Goodlyfe” concert, a fallout occurred that reportedly escalated into a physical altercation, with Weasel accusing Nobat of embezzling concert funds.
Since then, Nobat has frequently criticized members of the Mayanja family in public forums.
Jose Chameleone, visibly frustrated, expressed that the ongoing defamation has had damaging effects not only on his family but also on his public image and music career. He warned that if the attacks persist, he will pursue legal action.
“This message is for you, Nobat. I’ve seen and heard everything you’ve said — the insults, the embarrassment. It has to stop If you continue, I’ll demand evidence for your claims. You’re trying to boost your name by pretending to know me but you don’t. This is not a threat; it’s a warning. I won’t fight you physically, but I will respond legally. I have people ready to take you on in court. Please, just stop”,he asserted.
