Tasi’s wife, who operates the Owomukisa TV social media platform, also confirmed the incident.
She claimed he was taken by armed operatives and is believed to have been transported to the Chieftaincy of Military Intelligence (CMI) headquarters.
Uganda People’s Defence Forces (UPDF) spokesperson Col. Felix Kulaigye later confirmed the arrest.
He stated that Bobi Giant was apprehended for his alleged involvement in a military-style parade held earlier this year at the NUP headquarters in Kavule, Kampala a move officials claim posed a threat to national security.
“His actions caused concern at the highest levels of government,” Kulaigye said, adding that Tasi will face interrogation before being formally charged and presented in court.
