Ugandan entrepreneur and internet personality Shakib Cham Lutaaya has shared insights into navigating life within a blended family following his marriage to South African-based socialite and businesswoman Zari Hassan.

During an appearance on a local podcast on Friday, August 29, 2025, Shakib Cham, who has two children from previous relationships, revealed that he intentionally keeps his kids separate from Zari’s five children.

He explained that although the children have met once, he avoids regular interaction between them to prevent any potential friction involving their respective mothers.

“They’ve met once, but I don’t like mixing them up because I don’t want to involve their mothers and cause any unnecessary tension. When I’m in South Africa, I spend time with them, but I prefer to keep those moments private I don’t post videos or anything.”, Shakib Cham said.

Shakib’s comments come months after he publicly addressed some of the challenges he’s faced since marrying Zari.

Back in January 2025, he opened up on Instagram about the wave of criticism he encountered, particularly regarding the couple’s age difference.

“I’ve faced a lot of criticism, especially after becoming Zari’s husband,” Shakib Cham admitted.

Despite the backlash, Shakib has leaned into his role both as Zari’s partner and as a rising media personality.

He currently stars in Season 3 of the popular Netflix reality series Young, Famous & African. For Shakib, the show offers a platform to showcase who he is beyond the label of being Zari’s husband.

“As a cast member, my personality and what I do are being documented. People will get to know me for who I really am.”,he shared.

Shakib also invited fans to share their thoughts on his performance in the new season, which premiered earlier this year.

“Now that I’ve had the chance to show my true self on the show, I’d love to hear what you think. How has Season 3 been so far?” he asked.

In a heartfelt tribute, Shakib credited Zari for her unwavering support and helping him land a spot on the high-profile show.

“Hey, wife, just wanted to say thanks for making me a Netflix star. Here’s to many more moments of joy, love, and Netflix fame,” he wrote on social media.
