Singer King Saha has sharply criticized National Unity Platform (NUP) politicians, particularly Members of Parliament (MPs) and councilors, accusing them of neglecting the party’s core mission and failing to support their leader, Bobi Wine, during crucial moments.
Speaking at the NUP headquarters during a prayer ceremony commemorating comrades lost in the 2020 Kampala riots, King Saha expressed his deep disappointment in the silence of these politicians on key issues affecting the party and its supporters.
He pointed out that the party’s supporters are closely watching the actions of their leaders, particularly their failure to speak out against government injustices.
“You MPs and councilors, we, the voters, are watching you closely. In the next general elections, you will see how deeply disappointed and disillusioned we are with you. Your silence has only allowed the enemy to gain ground,” King Saha said.
He went on to warn that NUP supporters would back younger, more driven candidates to contest in the 2026 elections, replacing the current leadership.
“These new candidates will better represent the ideals of our party and the aspirations of the people. You have failed to stand up for the people and have only cared about your own interests. We will ensure that the youth, who are hungry for change, challenge you and push you out of office so we can continue our struggle,” Saha declared.
The musician also recalled an incident where Bobi Wine was struck by a tear gas canister, stressing that MPs should have shown more solidarity with their leader during such significant moments.
