Renowned gospel artist and Worship House lead pastor, Wilson Bugembe, has opened up about the personal sacrifices he’s made for the growth of his ministry sacrifices many people never see.

During a candid interview on NTV’s The Beat, Pastor Bugembe shared an emotional story of how he gave up his dream home in Kiwatule to help his church purchase land for much-needed parking space.

According to Bugembe, the church urgently needed Shs1 billion for the land. To help meet this need, he sold his house built from the fruits of his successful music career for Shs700 million and donated the entire amount to the church.

“That house was my dream home, It was a symbol of everything I had achieved through music. Selling it was heartbreaking, but I did it for the church.”,he said.

Even with the Shs700 million raised from the sale, the church was still short of funds. To cover the remaining amount, they had to take out a loan of Shs300 million.

Bugembe admitted the decision weighed heavily on him, both emotionally and mentally. But support came from an unlikely source fellow artist Gravity Omutujju.

“After the sale, I was deeply troubled and lost in thought,Gravity found me in that moment and told me, ‘The Kabaka or the President might never visit your house, but they could visit your church. You did this for God—don’t be sad or regret it.’ Those words brought me peace.”Bugembe recalled.
