Ugandan songwriter Rulz has made history by winning a Grammy Award for his work on the album Alkebulan II.
The award ceremony, held in Los Angeles, saw songwriter and fellow Ugandan artist Zigi Nana take home the prestigious honor for Best Global Music Album, thanks to their songwriting contributions to Matt B’s project.
He shared his excitement on his X account, writing:
“GRAMMY WINNING SONGWRITER #GRAMMYs
Allah is so good to me!!!!!”
Though he and Zigi Nana were unable to attend the ceremony in person due to visa delays, their spirits were undeterred. They shared their joy, stating:
“We couldn’t attend the Grammys in time because our visas arrived late. But regardlesssssss!!!! We bringing it home with usssss #GRAMMYs”
