The Under- 16 women’s national team head coach Charles Ayiekoh Lukula has summoned 21 players to start preparations for UEFA U16 Friendship scheduled for 9th -19th April 2024 in Turkey at the Turkish Football Federation training Center in Riva , Istanbul.
The invitation tournament is an initiative by UEFA and this is the inaugural edition that will feature eight women football teams and only two teams selected from Africa namely : Uganda and Botswana.
Other teams to take part includes; Turkey ( host) , USA , Vietnam , China ,Paraguay and Wales.
Uganda is pooled in Group B alongside China, Wales and Paraguay.
The summoned players entered the residential camp at Cranes Paradise Hotel in Kisasi on Thursday and are expected to travel to Turkey on Tuesday next week.
