All the local Ugandan movies airing on the different television channels are masterpieces pivoted by different movie Directors in Uganda, and here we take you through some of these individuals and the films they have over the years masterminded.
1. Mathew Nabwiiso
CEO and owner of the Nabwiiso Films alongside his wife Eleanor Nabwiso, these two have played a significant role in the movie industry through producing and directing some of the award winning films and series including Sanyu among others.
2. Nathan Magoola
He is a film maker, publicist, a producer and a director who was born in Jinja and moved to the United States in 2001 to study coding at St Paul College Minnesota.
Nathan Magoola has directed movies including the Award winning Prestige,Beloved among others which aired on Pearl Magic Prime.
3. Rehema Nanfuka
Well known for her roles in Imani, Veronica’s Wish, The Girl in the Yellow Jumper, Wueen of Katwe among other movies, Rehema Nanfuka is a film maker, actress and movie Director.

4. Usama Mukwaya
Born on December 12th 1989, he is a Ugandan screenwriter, producer and Director who has received several accolades including nominations for an Ama award and three Amvca Awards.
5. Edward Kagutuzi
He is an actor by day and a director by night. Born in 1990 in London, United Kingdom, Edward Kagutuzi was nominated for the Africa Movie Academy Award for Best Young Actor. He has directed several films, including Mirror Boy and Cherry, establishing himself as one of the prominent movie directors in the African film industry.
However, the Uganda film industry continues to grow with more youth enrolling in film and television production to showcase their skills and talents which also earns them fane and improves on their standards of living
