Uganda’s entertainment industry boasts various music genres like hip hop, R&B, and dancehall, with many artists pursuing solo careers or forming music bands. These bands, known for their exceptional performances and talents, have become key players in entertaining audiences. Here are some of the top music bands in Uganda.
1. Afrigo Band
A musical Band in Uganda that is believed to be the longest lasting musical group in the history of entertainment having existed for 49years as per to date.
Afrigo Band was formed by a group of eight musicians led by their band leader vocalist, and alto saxophonist Moses Matovu playing for their fans both Nationally and internationally. Some of the other Band members include Joanitah Kawalya, Charles Sekyanzi, Jeff Sewava, Paddy Nsubuga among others.

3. Abeeka Band
The East Africa’s most vibrant boy Band consisting of five gentlemen, Abeeka is a Band that does all kinds of music genres with a strong hold being on dancehall, reggae, zouk and music covers.
Abeeka is a Luganda word meaning homies and this name identifies them well with their Ugandan fans across the globe. The band’s five members include Kevin Sekasi, Pages, Dr. Tre, Allan Okia and Micheal Sebulime.

4. Sauti Ya Africa
A trio musical group in Uganda composed of three gentlemen who have been performing together since 2005.
The group includes Francis Mutesasira, Benjamin Katumba and George Semaganda and these band members were drawn together by their love for music and the group was mentored by Ulrike Wilson the representative of the IMF.
5. Undercover Brothers
These were a Ugandan music duo conposed of guitarist and vocalist Jay K Mulunji and Timothy Kirya whose music career sparked off when they won auditions and represented Uganda in the sixth season of East Africa’s biggest singing competition Tusker Project Fame.
However, these Bands have therefore played a significant role of entertaining the out going crowds and most of them inspired the young generation.
