A teenage boy, identified as Mwanje Sharif, has stirred public attention after claiming that veteran musician and former manager Radio and Weasel, Chagga Geoffrey is his biological father.
Appearing at BBS TV over yesterday, Mwanje revealed that he was raised by his mother and grandmother, who have always told him that Chagga fathered him years ago after a brief romantic encounter during one of the singer’s performances in their area.
Mwanje narrated that he only learned about his alleged father when he was about ten years old after questioning his grandmother about his family background.
“One time, I fought with our neighbors’ kids, and one of them told me to go to my father. That incident disturbed me for years until my grandmother finally told me that my father was Chagga. She even promised to take me to him,” Mwanje recounted.
According to the teenager, Chagga allegedly gave his mother a wrong contact number before parting ways, leaving her unable to reach him again.
Mwanje explained that he decided to go public because he has failed to find any other way to reach Chagga. However, he clarified that his motive is not financial gain but rather the desire for a father’s love and acknowledgment.
“I don’t need money or any financial help. I just want to know my father, meet my other family, and share the love that comes with belonging. I feel pain when I see others celebrating family occasions while I’m alone. I just want him to recognize me,” he said emotionally.
Mwanje further challenged Chagga to take a DNA test if he doubts his claims.
As of now, Chagga Geoffrey has not responded to the allegations. We shall keep you updated once he issues a statement.
