Salt Media Group of Companies, TV station has lost it’s Facebook account to unknown hackers who have started posting unrelated content.
The hackers who yet to be identified took down most of Station’s previous content and shared explicit content on the page.
The hack was brought to light through a statement released on the Salt TV Twitter account, where administrators issued a warning to their audience regarding the breach.
“ATTENTION! It is with deep regret that we inform you that the Salt TV Facebook page has been hacked! We continue to work to restore & regain control of the account and truly appreciate your patience and support. Please exercise caution and refrain from interacting with any unexpected or suspicious content. Your understanding and support during this incident is very important to us, and we are fully committed to quickly resolving this matter,” the tweet read.
The incident has caused a stir among the followers of Salt TV, who are accustomed to the page’s religious content. Many expressed shock and disappointment at the sudden shift in the page’s tone and content.
