Ugandan music legend, Lubega Tony, better known as Red Banton, has expressed his wish for a joyful celebration of his life rather than a sorrowful farewell when he passes away.

The death of a celebrity often brings a cloud of sadness over the nation, with people mourning in their own sorrowful ways.

However, Red Banton, famous for his hit song “Kampala,” hopes that when his time comes to meet his maker, there will be no tears or sadness.

He encourages his family, friends, and fans to honor him by dancing, drinking, and having a good time.

“Just play the music, dance, and enjoy yourselves,” he says. “If they decide to pray for me, that’s fine, and if not, that’s okay too, as long as there’s music and fun with some drinks.”,he said.

The veteran singer also cautioned against the presence of gangs at his vigil or burial, insisting that he does not want any chaos or disruptions on his final day.

Red Banton, born in Masaka -Uganda, emerged as a significant figure in the country’s music industry in the late 1990s. He gained widespread acclaim with his hit song “Noonya Money,” which became a national sensation. This success not only solidified his place in Ugandan music history but also paved the way for future artists in the genre.
