Police are on the hunt for socialite Zari Hassan’s husband, Shakib Cham born Shakib Lutaaya, over alleged involvement in a robbery and assault incident at a popular bar in Munyonyo.
Kampala Metropolitan Police Deputy Spokesperson Luke Owoyesigyire confirmed that investigations are underway following a violent incident at Chezz Boss Mutoto Bar on December 27, 2025.
According to police, a group of men reportedly stormed the bar, assaulted several patrons and robbed at least four victims of their mobile phones. Preliminary findings indicate that the suspects were allegedly led by a man identified as Shakib, a businessman operating in the Kasanga area.
A case of robbery and assault has since been registered at Kabalagala Police Station, where detectives are piecing together evidence and pursuing suspects.
Reports further claim that the attackers made off with cash and a gold chain valued at about UGX 50 million. The allegations gained traction after CCTV footage surfaced online, showing several men aggressively searching patrons for valuables upon entering the bar.
However, sources close to the matter allege the attack may have been driven by revenge, with claims that the bar owner, Boss Mutoto, had linked Zari Hassan to wealthy men in Kampala an accusation that has not been officially confirmed.
Meanwhile, reliable sources say Zari Hassan has left the country for South Africa, reportedly to prioritize her peace of mind as investigations continue.
