Nansubuga, who currently lives in a rented house in Lusanja village, Kasangati Town Council, Wakiso District, shared the immense challenges her family has faced since the tragic death of her husband, the sole breadwinner.

She described the ongoing struggles with poor housing, lack of income, and her inability to afford basic necessities, including school fees for her children.

Kawuma was shot and killed on August 13, 2018, while waiting in Bobi Wine’s car outside Pacific Hotel in Arua City during the tense Arua Municipality by-election.

According to Nansubuga, her husband’s death left the family in despair. Despite receiving promises of support from Kyagulanyi and NUP, she stated that no tangible help had come their way.

In response, PM Nabbanja assured Nansubuga that her office would assist by purchasing land and building a house for her and her children.

Kawuma had been Bobi Wine’s personal driver for many years and was tragically killed during violent clashes in Arua Town in August 2018.

The violence erupted between security forces and supporters of Kasiano Wadri, one of the candidates in the Arua Municipality parliamentary by-election.

The conflict reportedly began when individuals wearing Wadri’s campaign shirts threw stones at President Museveni’s convoy as he was leaving Boma Grounds after attending the final rally for the NRM party’s candidate, Nusura Tiperu.
