Pastor Wilson Bugedmbe, the lead pastor of Light the World Ministries, has issued a stern warning to believers about the danger of placing their trust in pastors and prophets more than in God Himself.
While speaking at a fellowship gathering in Kiwatule, Bugembe expressed concern over a growing trend where people seem to idolize their spiritual leaders.
“This generation believes in pastors more than they believe in God,” he said, observing how some believers are more focused on showcasing their pastors or prophets, particularly on social media.
He shared a personal example, noting, “I know someone who keeps a portrait of their prophet by their bedside, thinking it will protect them.
Bugemb ealso pointed out the irony in such behavior, saying, “You’ll see a woman who never posts her husband, yet her pastor is always featured on her social media status.”
Bugembe reminded his audience that pastors and prophets are human beings, just like everyone else, and they, too, face challenges and temptations in life.
“Men of God are not the solution to your problems. Only God has the power to solve your problems,” he said, urging believers to redirect their faith and trust toward God, rather than elevating spiritual leaders to an undue level of reverence.
