Media personality and events host Dagy Nyce, real name Douglas Isubikalu Ngobi, has finally addressed the long-running rumours linking him romantically to singer Carol Nantongo and his noticeable absence at her Kukyala ceremony.
Speaking in a recent TV interview, Dagy Nyce dismissed claims that he once dated Carol, describing them as baseless rumours that deserve no attention.
He said he is happy to see Carol in a stable and loving relationship and congratulated her on successfully holding her Kukyala ceremony last December.
The ceremony attracted several big names from the entertainment industry. However, Dagy Nyce, who was once a close friend to Carol, did not attend something that fueled fresh speculation online. Clearing the air, he explained that he was out of town on work duty at the time.
“I was not around; I was upcountry for work. That’s why you didn’t see me there. Maybe they invited me, but I wasn’t in Kampala,” he stated.
Dagy Nyce also addressed reports that he frequently attended the UNMF Jam Sessions at Allure Suites to spend time with Carol. He denied that his visits were romantically motivated, insisting they were strictly business-related due to his strong ties in the music industry.
“The Federation is for musicians, and that is my line of work. Checking on people in the industry isn’t a bad thing. I relate with many artists I’m like a cousin to the industry,” he explained.
In past interviews, Carol Nantongo herself has maintained that her relationship with Dagy Nyce was purely friendship and never romantic.
For now, it seems the chapter is closed no hidden love story, just industry friendship.
