CBS FM has quietly shown the exit door to celebrated political analyst Meddie Nsereko, ending his long-running career at the Buganda Kingdom–owned station, reliable sources have confirmed.

After months of speculation, insiders at CBS revealed that Meddie Nsereko Ssebuliba  who had been off-air for over two months will not be returning to the station, though the exact reason for his dismissal remains undisclosed.

Earlier reports indicated that Nsereko had applied for sick leave, seeking specialised eye treatment in the UK. However, new information suggests his break has now turned into an indefinite exit.

“It was a mutual understanding… people had started saying many things,” a source at the station disclosed.

Nsereko, who is believed to be in his 60s, has been one of the station’s most authoritative voices. He joined CBS in 1996, later taking full charge of political talk shows in 2001 after the departure of Mulindwa Muwonge.

At CBS, he hosted several flagship programs including:

Kiriza Oba Gana (89.2 FM)

Palamenti Yaffe (88.9 FM, Saturdays)

Alive and Kicking (Sunday mornings), which has reportedly been renamed Mukikadde following his exit.

Beyond radio, Nsereko launched The Meddie Nsereko Show podcast last year, featuring prominent guests from political and social circles.

In a 2014 interview with Daily Monitor, Nsereko credited CBS for opening “enormous opportunities” for him, saying his commitment to journalism had earned him respect and mileage.
