Veteran TV personality and celebrated events host MC Kats has stirred fresh conversation online after revealing that singer Fille Mutoni knew about his HIV status right from the start of their relationship.
In 2019, Kats publicly announced that he was HIV-positive a revelation that shocked many Ugandans. At the time, Fille expressed disappointment during an interview with Karitas Karisimbi, saying Kats was selfish to disclose something so sensitive without consulting her.
Speaking in a recent interview, MC Kats said Fille was fully aware long before he made the announcement public. He narrated that on the very first day they got intimate, he asked her what she would do if he infected her.
“She told me she didn’t mind and that we should leave the rest to God,” Kats revealed.
Kats, who played a huge role in building Fille’s music career around 2013, said their relationship slowly shifted from business to romance. The two went on to welcome a daughter, Abbie.
Despite the storms they faced, Kats says both Fille and their child are living proof of God’s protection neither of them contracted the virus.
He credits this to strictly taking his medication:
“I made sure I took my medicine properly that’s why they survived.”,he said .
The NBS TV presenter also shared that his first baby mama passed away when their daughter Brina was just three years old, forcing him to take on both parenting roles.
He explained that people often think he refuses to let go of Fille, but they forget what the two have survived together:
“It’s impossible to hate her. We went through too much.”,Kat’s disclosed .
Although both have moved on and are dating other people, MC Kats says he still holds genuine affection for Fille.
The revelations have sparked mixed reactions, with many praising Kats for his honesty and resilience.
