Reports indicate that Mukiibi has been endorsed by Hon. Mathias Mpuuga’s Democratic Front and will be running for the parliamentary seat in Mawogola County South, Sembabule District. He is expected to challenge the incumbent, Hon. Gorreth Namugga of the National Unity Platform (NUP).

The upcoming race is shaping up to be highly competitive, with both sides already engaging in sharp political exchanges. Mukiibi’s connection to the Buganda Kingdom, built through his role at the Kingdom’s official broadcaster, could give him a strategic advantage in the region.

However, Namugga remains a strong contender. She continues to enjoy widespread support, particularly among the youth who have been instrumental in bolstering NUP’s influence in Greater Masaka.
