Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) presidential candidate Nathan Nandala Mafabi has promised to serve only two terms if elected president in the forthcoming  general elections.

The pledge was announced by FDC party president Eng. Patrick Oboi Amuriat during a campaign rally at Kabango-Kinyara Trading Centre in Masindi District.

Amuriat emphasized that the party remains committed to democratic leadership and the peaceful transfer of power.

“I want to tell you, the people of Masindi, my president Mr. Mafabi has assured me that once elected, he will serve for a maximum of ten years. The culture of life presidency ends with Mr. Museveni’s regime,” Amuriat told supporters.

Mafabi, currently campaigning across the Bunyoro sub-region, spent the day addressing rallies in Masindi and Kiryandongo districts before proceeding to northern Uganda.

The FDC flag bearer has built his campaign around restoring constitutional order, fighting corruption, and dismantling what he and his party describe as the “life presidency” system entrenched under President Yoweri Museveni’s long rule.
