Ugandan musician Lydia Jazmine real name Lydia Nabawanuka, has firmly dismissed rumors claiming that she depends on men for financial support.
In a recent YouTube interview, Jazmine addressed the stereotypes suggesting that women in the entertainment industry rely on men to maintain their lifestyles.
She admitted to enjoying fashion and looking good but was quick to dismiss claims that men fund her glamorous image.
The singer stressed that her success is the result of her own hard work and independence, contrary to popular assumptions circulating on social media.
“Which man? I take care of myself. I’m a hardworking woman who earns her own money. I don’t need a man to provide for me if he’s in my life, he’s adding to what I already have. He empowers me,” she stated.

Lydia went on to express her frustration with the widespread misconception that undermines women’s achievements. She pointed out that having a man in one’s life should not automatically be equated to financial dependence, emphasizing that relationships can also be based on companionship and emotional support.
“People should stop disrespecting women. I’ve worked for years and can sustain myself. Just like men look for women who bring them peace, we too want partners who offer peace and comfort. We are hardworking women. If a man has money, he complements what we already have but we don’t depend on them,” she added.
When asked about her personal life, Jazmine declined to confirm whether she is currently in a relationship.
However, she assured fans that if she ever decides to settle down and get married, she will share the news publicly
