Kololo Set to Dazzle as Museveni Launches 2026 Campaign

Kololo Independence Grounds will come alive on Tuesday, 23rd September 2025, with a vibrant celebration of music, culture, and comedy as President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni officially launches his 2026 re-election campaign under the theme “Protecting the Gains.”

The festivities will follow his official nomination earlier in the day by the Electoral Commission at its new Lweza-Lubowa headquarters.

To mark the occasion, a star-studded and diverse lineup of Uganda’s top entertainers has been assembled, promising a day filled with electrifying performances and patriotic celebration.

The event is expected to draw crowds from across the country, reflecting the National Resistance Movement’s commitment to inclusiveness.

Headlining the event are some of Uganda’s most prominent music icons, including Bebe Cool, Jose Chameleone, Eddy Kenzo, Ronald Mayinja, Catherine Kusasira, Full Figure, Phina Mugerwa, Lil Pazo Lunabe, Stecia Mayanja, Alien Skin, Gravity Omutujju, Daddy Andre, Weasel Manizo, Ykee Benda, Coco Finger, Fred Sebbale, Jingo Show, MC Vex, MC Kalera, MC Cash Owakabi, Zig Zag, and Man Pato.

The day’s celebrations will also spotlight Uganda’s cultural diversity, with performers from all regions taking the stage.

From Northern Uganda, attendees will enjoy the unique sounds and heritage of artists such as Bosmic Otim, Odongo Romeo, Prisca Janet, Mc Rock, Okenge Born Town, Deno Traditional Group, Blood Moon (Lango), and JM Kennedy (West Nile).

Western Uganda will be represented by favorites like Ray G, Truth 256, T Paul, Sister Charity, MC Kacheche, and Baingana, bringing a blend of traditional melodies and contemporary rhythms.

Eastern Uganda will add its voice with dynamic acts including Davido Spider, Rexy, Temperature Tach, Evy Treys, Victor Ruz, MC Rogers, and the Idi Amasaba Cultural Group.

No Ugandan celebration would be complete without laughter, and the event will also feature some of the country’s most beloved comedians, including Madrat and Chiko, Dr. Hilary, Teacher Mpamire, Salvado, and Pastor Twine Herbert, ensuring a day full of joy, humor, and entertainment.
