Former media personality and musician Katongole Omutongole has opened up about why he decided to step away from his media career and move to the United States.
Katongole Omutongole, who began his journey in media back in 2001, originally intended to work for just a decade before transitioning into politics. However, when his political ambitions didn’t materialize as planned, he continued in the media industry for over ten years, with his last stint being at Bukedde TV.
Reflecting on his departure in recent interview , Katongole said that he felt it was time to step aside and make room for younger talent in the industry.
“I’ve worked with so many people in media, and I just didn’t see myself competing anymore especially in areas like music shows. I couldn’t keep up with the competition. Going for awards and facing off against all the rising stars didn’t feel right anymore. It was time to give the young people a chance to shine.,he said

After leaving the media, Katongole followed through with his plan to relocate to the U.S. He has now been there for nearly two years and currently works a variety of odd jobs and he is among many Ugandan Media personalities who relocate to U. S for better paying opportunities.
