Renowned media personality Isaac Daniel Katende popularly known as Kasuku has finally opened up about the real reason behind his departure from Spark Television, a media outlet based at Serena Hotel -Kampala.

Kasuku, who co-hosted the popular morning show Twezimbe on Dembe FM alongside Ruth Kalibbala and Kaima Shafiq, also saw the show broadcast visually on Spark TV.

However, after some time he left the show and was subsequently put on hold for several months.

His sudden exit from Spark TV left many fans puzzled, wondering what led to his decision.

In a recent interview, he revealed that his departure wasn’t due to cost-cutting measures as had been previously speculated. Instead, he explained that there was internal resistance from people within the television station who were unhappy with their presence.

“They fought us. Remember, we came from Monitor, and the radio station had a partnership with the TV station. The TV management felt threatened because they weren’t in control of us,” he disclosed.

Despite facing such challenges, he shared that their show was incredibly successful, even ranking as the top morning show in the country, according to an IPSOS report.

However, he alleges that Spark TV management deliberately withheld this information from them.

“They hid the results and never told us that our show had ranked number one. Eventually, we were let go,” he added.

In an unexpected twist, Kasuku mentioned that after leaving the station, he was approached with an offer to return, but he declined the invitation.
