Musician Kabako has made headlines by demanding the immediate arrest of fellow artist Eddy Kenzo, whom he accuses of fraud in connection with the Uganda National Musicians Federation (UNMF).

Kabako, known for his outspoken views, has consistently criticized the formation and operations of the UNMF, which was launched in May 2023.

He argues that the federation is misusing public funds and lacks a proper foundation.

Following his recent performance at Comedy Store, Kabako addressed the media and reiterated his call for Kenzo’s arrest, claiming the federation was formed without proper structure or adherence to industry norms.

“It was a huge mistake to start a federation with musicians who don’t belong to any recognized association. Eddy Kenzo should be arrested immediately. It’s like enrolling in university without attending primary school. If I were a lawyer, I would file a case myself,” he stated.

Kabako also took issue with the federation’s weekly gatherings at Allure Hotel and Suites, where members meet every Tuesday for Jam Sessions aimed at promoting Ugandan music.

“These people are running the music industry from hotels, how can leaders of such an important body conduct operations in such a casual setting? Is this how things are supposed to be done?”,he said.

The UNMF, led by Eddy Kenzo and Sheebah, was introduced with the aim of uniting Ugandan musicians and creating a central body to represent their interests. However, critics like Kabako believe it lacks transparency and credibility.
