Ugandan music icon Joseph Mayanja, popularly known as Jose Chameleone, is set to return to Uganda on Thursday after receiving treatment in the United States for acute pancreatitis.
The “Valu Valu” singer left Uganda in December 2024 for medical care and has been undergoing treatment ever since.
The news of his return was first shared by his close friend and TV presenter, Dagy Nyce, via X (formerly Twitter), and later confirmed by local media outlets.
According to Dagy Nyce’s post, Chameleone is expected to arrive at Entebbe International Airport on Thursday, April 10th, at 5:30 PM.

“4 DAYS TO GO…..>>>> Welcome home, champ! Thursday, Ebb Airport, 5:30 PM,” Dagy Nyce wrote.
During his time in the U.S., Chameleone was accompanied by his younger brother and fellow musician, Weasel Manizo, who took on the role of caretaker. The two were also supported by Ugandan philanthropist Juliet Zawedde, based in the U.S.
