Through experience, I have stamped my name as a well reffered to online brand developer, media expert, PR Guru , a News Editor and a well thought certified Journalist.

News reaching our desk indicates that former NTV Uganda Journalist and National Unity Platform spokesperson , Joel Ssenyonyi has arrested and detained at Kiira road police station .

He has been arrested together with NUP’s secretary – general Lewis Rubongoyo.

The leader of Opposition Mathias Mpuuga has confirmed the news of their arrest through his socials as he reported military siege at their Party’s headquarters in Kamwokya.

“The military siege of our party headquarters and the arrest of our Secretary General David Lewis Rubongoya and Spokesman Joel Ssenyonyi speaks volumes about our country’s democratic credentials.

This happening on a day when the country is supposedly celebrating its 61st Independence Day only shows that we are still under colonialism – it’s only the colonisers’ skin colour that changed.”, Mathias Mpuuga posted.

Their arrest follows Bobi Wine’s announcement yesterday , that instead of celebrating Independence Day , instead they will use the day to pray for their fallen NUP supporters who died in the struggle.

“While dictator Museveni and his cronies will gather in Kitgum tomorrow to ‘celebrate independence’, we shall gather at our offices in Kamwokya to pray for our comrades killed by the regime, those who were abducted and are still missing, as well as those in illegal detention.

We shall reaffirm that there is NOTHING TO CELEBRATE about independence because we are not independent!

It was simply a change of guard from white colonialists to black colonialists who have done even worse.

As Museveni and his small group gather to celebrate the loot and plunder of our nation for almost fourty years, we shall be joined by the families of the victims of repression to remember their loved ones – the dead, the disappeared and the detained.

We shall dedicate a session to the missing journalist Sesanga Batte, who was abducted by regime operatives a few days ago and he remains missing.”,Bobi Wine worte.
