Ministry of Internal Affairs Speaks Out on Job Scam Involving Don Chris

The Ministry of Internal Affairs has officially addressed the growing concerns surrounding a large-scale job scam allegedly orchestrated by Christian Asiimwe, popularly known as Don Chris.

Speaking to the press, Ministry spokesperson Mr. Simon Mundeyi revealed that Don Chris defrauded hundreds of Ugandans by promising them lucrative job opportunities abroad, particularly in the United Kingdom and Canada.

According to Mr. Mundeyi, the number of victims who have come forward has risen to 350, with the total amount of money lost estimated at Ugx 1.4 billion.

Don Chris, a 32-year-old Ugandan national and owner of Skypin Tour and Travel Company, is accused of masterminding the scam under the guise of overseas employment recruitment.

The Ministry also confirmed that Asiimwe fled the country on June 20th, crossing the border at Malaba. Mr. Mundeyi issued a public appeal to Don Chris, urging him to present his side of the story.

“So far, we’ve only heard from the victims,Christian Asiimwe, wherever you are, come forward and share your perspective. We want to hear from you too there might be more to the story.”said Mundeyi.

The Ministry continues to investigate the case and has pledged to pursue justice for the affected individuals.
