The long-standing rivalry between Bebe Cool and Bobi Wine shows no sign of letting up. Although the two have taken divergent paths—Bebe Cool continuing his music career and Bobi Wine stepping into politics—they still take occasional digs at one another.
In a recent TikTok live session, Bebe Cool made a bold claim, stating that his influence in Ugandan society far surpasses that of Bobi Wine.
The musician and businessman pointed out that he frequently meets with President Yoweri Museveni to discuss various national projects, implying that his close relationship with the president is a sign of his political and social importance.
“I’m always in meetings with the President, suggesting projects that directly benefit Ugandans,” Bebe Cool said. “The President listens to me, and we implement those projects. This is real productivity, not using the suffering of Ugandans for political gain.”
The tension between Bebe Cool and Bobi Wine has spanned more than two decades, with personal and ideological differences fueling their rivalry.
Bebe Cool, a staunch supporter of the ruling National Resistance Movement (NRM), continues to focus on his music and his expanding business ventures, including his recent entry into the stone quarry industry. On the other hand, Bobi Wine, leader of the opposition National Unity Platform (NUP), has become a significant political figure. He ran for president in 2021, emerging as the main challenger to Museveni, and has already announced plans to run again in the 2026 elections.
