Acram Gumisiriza, the husband of Hajjat Kulthum Nabunya, has shown interest to tussle it out with President Museveni in forthcoming 2026 general elections.
As of now ,it remains unclear whether Museveni will be running in the 2026 elections.
In recent interview with Sanyuka TV, Acram disclosed that he’s planning to make his wife Hajjat Kulthum a first lady of Uganda by standing for presidency in the 2026 general elections, reasoning that it’s the only appropriate gift she deser for loving him.
” I will run for president in 2026 to make my wife the First Lady of Uganda. InsaAllah” ,he said during the interview.
He further revealed that he is going to contest as an independent candidate adding that he has all the necessary requirements needed for one to become the president of Uganda.
When asked which symbol he is to use, he replied by saying the ‘Eyes’ since people usually describe him by his eyes adding that they help him see from afar.
He assured the public that he is serious about his revelation adding that starting next week, he will be moving around the country getting the required signatures that permit him to contest.
